Israeli Defence Force attack mourners at the funeral of Shireen Abu Akleh.

Mourners were attacked by the IDF and the coffin of Shireen Abu Akleh nearly dropped in violent scenes. I did a video yesterday on the murder of Al-Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh and my disgust at Israel, my disgust at world leaders who give them a free pass, my disgust at the Labour Party in particular as Labour Friends of Israel paid to send Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting on an all expenses paid jolly there. Whilst I was making that video, Shireen’s body was moved from the hospital she was in for her funeral. The mourners were many, a lot of people felt this loss, it was a large event and that seemed to be enough for the Israeli Defence Force, thugs with guns frankly, to move in and attack. They pathetically claimed the pallbearers, the people carrying the coffin, had thrown stones at them. They were literally carrying a f**king coffin, how could they? The IDF attack was so severe, so disproportional in its violence, Shiren’s body was very nearly dropped but that’s because those carrying her threw stones? How thick do you think people are? Israeli propaganda certainly thinks you’re thick, they’ve tried passing off some doctored video of it, already debunked I might add, but I have to admit I was at a loss for words as I watched the clips emerging on Twitter, In my safe secure, white, western world I never imagined a funeral to be targeted by anyone for violence. That is depraved, that is disgusting and frankly my feelings towards anyone still defending Israel, still accusing criticism of things like this of being antisemitic, might consider themselves lucky they’re on the other side of a screen. I’ve not shared those clips in this video, though I really wanted to because for one, they’re distressing and for two, certain social media algorithms, platforms would probably pull them. Shame on them for doing so, but we know who they are. The events were severe enough to finally elicit a response from Labour’s Wes Streeting, who finally decided to pass comment on Shireen, but only to look at the scenes of her funeral and say that these scenes were ‘absolutely awful and distressing’. Still no comment on the fact she was murdered to begin with, in a nation, by a government he continues to enjoy a flesh pressing free holiday with. The funeral scenes weren’t the end of it though. less widely reported was the fact that while Palestinians from Hebron attended that funeral, Israeli settlers moved in and stole their homes whilst they were out, you can see them here running with bags and mattresses, having been bussed in to do so. The depravity is off the scale and it is way past time Israel stopped getting a free pass, for fear of them accusing others of racism, when actually we should be resolute in accusing them of apartheid and promoting BDS for all we’re worth.
