Understanding the KINGDOM - pt 2

May 17, 2022

The WORD had finished creation. He looked upon it, and it was good! But it was not all tamed. Only that which was in the garden was abiding under the watchful gaze of Adam. In the garden, heaven had invaded earth. Beyond the hedge, however, brambles weaved amongst the limbs of the wild cedars, and vines grew unchecked. There was work to do. But it was okay. Adam was working on it. As he and Eve were fruitful and their children joined in, the garden would expand and order would come to the choas. The beauty of the perfect will of the King was growing in the earthly realm!

Dominion. Cultivate that which is beautiful and multiply the yield of the earth. This is the way of the Master Gardener. The job is creative by necessity, and artistic in nature. Pursuit of this assignment pays its own dividends. Adam found that if he poured himself into the task of pruning grapevines, planting new herb beds, and fencing off the seedlings from the hungry animals, there was more food than he could possibly eat. Not only that, but he had freedom to do it his way. Father knew there were sometimes better ways to achieve an end, but He enjoyed watching Adam reason these things out on his own. Adam was learning and growing in wisdom. It was good.

Mat 6:31-33
(31)  Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’
(32)  For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.
(33)  But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
