I took some pictures of the lilacs in our garden and I've posted them in the Spring and New Beginnings album. Of course I'm reminded of the Ivor Novello song, "We'll Gather Lilacs in the Spring" and it's appropriate for a theme of new beginnings. Written towards the end of World War II it describes the yearning of couples to be reunited and evokes the hope so many felt towards the post-war era.
