Memories...

Memorial Day approaches. My husband was a veteran, of the Navy from 1964 to 1967. He didn’t much like being at sea for months at a time. He called it an experience he would never do again.

For those who lost their lives and the families that stayed behind, I SALUTE YOU.

In a moment of weakness remember our past life together. The memories came pouring down over my heart today. Listening to his favorite songs brought back memories of us together. He loved gambling and we sometimes made the occasional date, dinner, a movie, and gambling. I miss not having someone to play with.

One of his favorite songs was “What a wonderful world” by Louis Armstrong. Ray was a romantic at heart. He also enjoyed “The Hallmark Channel”. He would always tell me I don’t belong in this world; I should have been a hermit living in the old west and being a mountain man. He loved “Western movies”.

You begin to heal your heart of a loved one that has left this plain and then in an instant memories place you back in the past. Move on “I say”. Can it be that easy?
