Thury’s name became well-known even in distant lands, he was called the “most savage Hungarian”, the “El Cid of Hungary” or the “Lion of the Trans-Danubian Region”. Verily, he was perhaps the best swordsman in Hungary, if not in the world.
I've written several posts about his deeds but it was time to summarize his life in one article, based on the research of Szibler Gábor.
