Entender versus compartir.
De alguna forma se confunde entender con compartir. Yo puedo atender cosas que considero atrocidades pero eso no quiere decir que las comparta. Puedo saber cómo funciona un coche (automóvil) e incluso cuáles son sus piezas, no tengo que tener ese coche. Puedo explicarlo. Esto funciona así. Si le podemos gasolina o gasoil, si es de cuatro tiempos o de ocho, etc. No tengo que tener un coche. Este puede ser más lujoso o menos, mecánicamente puede ser más complejo o menos. En definitiva lo entiendo y se cómo funciona.
Con los sistemas sociales pasa algo muy parecido. Sabes cómo funciona, cuáles son las piezas, el combustible, las averías, etc. Me acuerdo de un chiste, que dice: “llega un mecánico para arreglar una avería que nadie ha podido arreglar. El da un martillazo en un lugar y mágicamente aquello empieza a andar. El usuario le pregunta ¿cuánto le debo? Y el mecánico le dice una cifra que el usuario considera elevada. Y le dice: solo por dar un martillazo. A lo cual el mecánico contesta: Yo sabía dónde dar el martillazo”.
Los años y la experiencia hacen que sepas donde hay que dar el martillazo, y solucionar el problema. Evidente no entraba a valorar como estada adornado el coche o pintado. Tenía que arreglar un problema de funcionamiento para que el automóvil andará.

Understand versus share.
Somehow understanding is confused with sharing. I can deal with things that I consider atrocities but that does not mean that I share them. I can know how a car (automobile) works and even what its parts are, I don't have to have that car. I can explain it. This works like this. If we can gasoline or diesel, if it is four-stroke or eight, etc. I don't have to have a car. This can be more luxurious or less, mechanically it can be more complex or less. Ultimately I understand it and I know how it works.
Something very similar happens with social systems. You know how it works, what the parts are, the fuel, the breakdowns, etc. I remember a joke, which says: “a mechanic arrives to fix a breakdown that no one has been able to fix. He hits a hammer in one place and magically it starts to work. The user asks how much do I owe him? And the mechanic tells him a number that the user considers high. And he tells him: just for giving a hammer blow. To which the mechanic replies: I knew where to hit the hammer.
Years and experience make you know where to hit the hammer, and solve the problem. Evidently it did not enter to value how the car was decorated or painted. He had to fix a malfunction to get the car going.
