New Moon: 02˚ Libra 49’ | BST: Sep.25.2022, 10:54 pm | EDT: Sep.25.2022, 5:54 pm

How has work been for you these past weeks? Maybe it wasn’t exactly work, but I’m sure you were busy, going around, running errands and taking care of the nitty-gritty. So was I — not just with a busy schedule, but also picking up on some backlog chores I had been neglecting for some time, and exploring my creativity with some digital collage illustrations.

The upcoming Libra new moon is about finding the delicate balance between being thoughtful of those around you and being brave enough to follow your own vision. This is easier said than done, but it’s more important to keep your eyes on the process than on the goal itself.

Libra

The harmony seeking Libra is, of course, a Venus ruled sign. It wants to connect, reconcile and bind, and its purpose is to find the best proportion in everything. This sign belongs to the air triplicity, and to the cardinal mode: the Scales tend to initiate social contact, and they like to make sure that relationships are balanced and equitable.

Although they aim for balance, this is not their starting point, and in this search they might be uncertain of what direction to take. They may come across as ambivalent or hesitant, because they don’t like to hurt anyone’s feelings. At their best, they are “bridge-makers”, diplomats or artists, and they know exactly what is the fair measure in all situations.

Opposite Jupiter in Aries

Confident Jupiter just happens to be on the other side of the zodiac, in the impetuous sign of Aries, very close to the degree of this new moon. On the one hand, you want to please the others, or maybe you feel the need to be on a team and partner up with someone. On the other hand, you know where you’re going, and you want to get there fast — even if you have to do it by yourself.

Nothing wrong with either of these, but it might be challenging to be on both sides of this equation at the same time. So, how do you find the balance?

Well, it’s great to be clear about your goals, but there’s no need to rush things. Everything is a process, and you wouldn’t want to miss any steps that might be crucial to the development of your projects. But also, being a pleasant person and working in a partnership shouldn’t have to compromise your individual aspirations.

Venus in Virgo

The goddess of beauty and love is hosting this new moon, and she is in the next door sign of Virgo. In this sign Venus has to go against her nature, and prioritize usefulness over aesthetics, and service over bonding.

So, it’s not so much about being “miss congeniality”, or doing the opposite, and ignoring everyone else to get your will done. This lunar month is much more about little acts of kindness that will probably go unacknowledged, and being fine with that.

Venus conjunct Mercury retrograde in Virgo

Virgo is Mercury’s department, which is in the same sign as Venus, and, because the planet of the rational mind and thought processes is retrograding, they are both walking towards each other, and very close to their reunion.

The ruler of this new moon is a very analytical and sober Venus, that wants to revise the terms of agreement of the relationship. This applies to romantic relationships, as well as to business partnerships, or even friendships.

Venus opposite Neptune in Pisces and trine Pluto in Capricorn

With the lord of fantasy, Neptune, challenging the grounded Venus in Virgo, it is important to understand and acknowledge what is your purpose — either individually and in a partnership —, without letting idealization or a misplaced sense of mission cloud your better judgement.

On a very different note, the supporting aspect of Venus with powerful Pluto will help you maximize the results of any decision you make now. You probably don’t even need to make any big changes, because little adjustments can have more impact than you predict and may go a long way.

New Moon synthesis

During this lunar month you’ll be looking for the balance your relationships with your personal goals. There’s no need for any dramatic changes — you already know where you’re headed. But it can be helpful to make some fine-tuning in order to recalibrate yourself with why are you doing this, and how can you collaborate with others, or simply achieve a better balance between work and personal life.

Who shares your vision? Is it useful for you to partner with this person(s)? How does your project — or your role in the relationship — serve the other(s)? Is there something you're missing that could make it better for the other(s)?

The answers to these questions can help you slow down and focus on the little details that need your attention, moving forward with your aspirations without leaving anyone behind.

Above all, remember it’s a process, and you need to take the steps to see what works and what doesn’t. Trial and error does take time, but it also builds a much more solid foundation for your relationship, personal project or whatever goals you are putting your energy into right now.
