Demons

Nov 04, 2022

Like skeletons in the closet,

They live in all of us,

Haunt us,

Taunt us,

Whisper,

Scream.

They dig their claws into our souls,

And swallow us whole,

Consuming us,

Draining us,

Killing,

Burying.

Our demons aren't immortal,

They're doorways to our secrets,

Our past,

Our present,

Weaknesses,

Failures.

Our demons drag us down,

Constantly beating and battering,

Tormenting us,

Maddening us,

Controlling,

Inconsolable.

Like devils in disguise,

Our demons creep in shadows,

Waiting,

Watching,

Listening,

Plotting.
