I am very grateful for all my years obsessing over the body and how to keep it in a healthy state. Now more than ever we seems to be so lost as to what is available to care for our own health, we seem at loss to know why we are out of balance or suffering dis-ease and how to bring it back.

I think a lot of this comes down to how we spend our time, what our priorities are and how we take for granted our temple, which is of course our body and we just expect to be able to push it to its limits, give it low quality fuel in the form of toxic food and fluid choices and ignore or its signals of struggle until it is too late.

All of us have seen or experienced the shift in our abilities to fight infections off since lockdown, since COVID, since vaccinations. I have never known so much ill health experienced from mild to severe there is a lot of suffering.

It is of course part of a bigger picture where the knowledge of our grandmothers and fathers and those before them was lost, was dismissed in the wake of the pharmaceutical company taking over our health and our food... and if you look in to it they are basically poisoning everything good so we are only able to use them as a solution. (You may not like this truth but sadly it is just that.. Truth, they are also now trying to control the rights of what your Doctors can and can't give you and this is of course in favor of their profit margin, don't take my word for it, the information is out there and easy to find)

As you know I value freedom. I believe it is put to good use when we care for ourselves and those around us.

The aim of this blog is to give you simple tips and ideas you may not be aware of, not great detail as it is a big subject I can get carried away on, but to give you some simple pointers that may help and you can also comment on the post and ask questions that I am happy to answer specifically.

Tips to Boost You Immunity

Rest - We no longer live with the rhythms of life, we do not slow down and rest when the seasons do, we do not hibernate even if we want to, we eat foods that demand more of the digestive system at this time as we are sadly lost and disconnected from how our body and its workings are interlinked and integral with nature. But whoever you are, you need rest, more in the cooler months when we have less sunlight. So make sure you have a healthy sleep routine, and a healthy rest and recuperation scheduled in to your weekly life. The body needs the rest state to repair, ready to rejuvinate in spring.

Reduce your toxic load. 70% of your lymphatic system is in the gut, making the gut a really important place to start when you are boosting immunity, the liver and the kidneys are also key detoxifying organs so it makes sense to not fill the vessel; that is your body with junk or blocking foods. Hydration is important for cellular detox as it flushes the toxins out, making it easier for the body to be less stagnant and more fluid. Warm drinks in colder climates enhances the uptake of hydration so think about this also. Too much cold food and drink in the cooler months causes damp and mucous which is the breeding ground for bacteria and viruses to become an issue and affect your wellbeing.

These are some tips for those of us that are happy to experiment and make changes and who do not find it too tricky to do so. If you have children like myself who are stubborn when it comes to food choices and healthy habits there are also so many ways you can further help. In addition to the above you can of course supplement and there are many, many options out there.

I have been working with my daughter summer whose immunity appears to be shocking and have designed a protocol to boost her immune system.

It includes rest, hugs and laughter as standard prescription, she was also very happy to consume my ginger, carrot, lemon and pineapple juice as well as eat vegetable noodle soup and broths. She is less happy to consume other food choices so she needs a boost

My go to is normally the seaweeds, like sea moss, spirulina, chorella etc. as well as turmeric and raw cacoa, but she is not having that go anywhere near her, so I decided to use royal jelly capsules, it is made in nature purely for the queen bee to sustain her strength and longevity so I am giving this to my little queen bee and hoping to keep her in good health and good spirits. There really is so much we can do, some easy, some takes more effort and demands of us we learn or relearn the knowledge of food as medicine, caring connections and personal responsibility.

I think caring for ourselves, each other and mother earth are what we are here to experience, what we are here to create.

I think we need to ask ourselves do we want to consume excess constantly or co-create a healthier way of being, a healthier more loving and connected way of life together in the eco-system.
