Cloudgirl; Exploration into DIY solo shoots

Dec 21, 2020

When the pandemic hit its second wave, I starting taking serious looks at somehow fitting my creativity into generating income online.

For a short while, I had a fans site, but since wanting to focus solely on my art more, and facing increasing censorship, I decided to end the site and simply move towards focusing one my art more.

There was a few sets I really liked when I started making my own little sets and self shot this set, in order to generate extra income that went towards my studio setup. The first payout, I bought a keyboard, Lighting and camera setup.

But anyways, lets get back to the main point of this post; the creation of cloudgirl. This Concept was one that was floating in my head for a while, and is simple in its imagery; a girl whose head is always in the clouds.

Using strictly leftover stock I had in studio, I managed to create this three piece set relatively quickly for me. (took three days to make and shoot in total- in comparison to the weeks and months I could spend on projects)

Originally, I wanted to shoot this with a photographer, But due to the circumstances at hand, I simply went ahead and used my camera phone to make this set work- and in a timely manner.

As this concept didn't seem too popular on the platform, I did not find it to land well among the followers at the time. Despite that, I would have done it again, I absolutely loved the learning I did while blending wire, cotton batting, and beads together
