After a 30 year hiatus, I sat down to write a short scene. That brief scene quickly blossomed, and before I knew it, I had a full-length novel. It was never my intention to sit down and write a book, yet, there it was.

I quickly realized that the story was far too big to be told in a single volume, and now I am currently writing the second book in what may end up being a five-book series.

It's exciting and scary for me, being a Self-Published Author, but I am proud of the accomplishment. I have been fortunate enough to receive the best of help and emotional support from my family and friends along the way.

I always knew I was a creative person, and growing up; other creatives always surrounded me. High School Teachers attempted to encourage me to write more, but I always bucked, stating I didn't really think I was good enough to do it. I suffered a lot of self-esteem issues back then, and when I looked around at the talent levels of the friends that surrounded me, I had doubts I was anywhere even close to being in 'that league'.

I'm currently still in a state of shock over it all! When the first book was purchased, it felt very strange to me knowing that someone was out there reading the book I had written. When I signed my first copy, it felt fantastic and surreal at the same time.

Every day I strive to become a little more comfortable with this new addition to my identity.
