My first goal on Buy Me a Coffee!

Dec 29, 2020

I just created my very fist "Buy Me A Coffee" goal.
It was hard to pick something that I thought would excite you, and help me at this stage of my art career.

It turns out that making video content and having a budget to advertise that content is the next stage of my development. it's no boring matter, I promise.

Last year on December 15th 2019 I created my very first website. My coffee paintings bring me joy, and they evoke an emotional response to people who see them. Weather they love coffee, the concept or the theme of the painting, coffee paintings spark interest. I knew it was a great form of art I could finally make reproductions of.

My partner Daniel and I started creating prints of my coffee art, we set up some drop-shipping, and I set a goal to have my FIRST SALE by 2020.

The website went live 2 days before New Years Eve. Once announced to my friends on Facebook, I soon had hundreds of people visiting my website to check it out!

Our first order came later that night. From a very dedicated coffee buyer like yourself. I'll never forget that first sale. I am especially proud of the time-sensitive goal that led me to take that leap.

I have been creating art as a career for about a decade, much of the work has been gigs. Murals, window painting, face painting, community entertaining... all of which require me to physically be somewhere to create. I wanted something a little more passive. Covid-19 proved that even more necessary to my life.

Soon after launching my website I was shown how necessary an artists passive income can be. Public Art government board meetings had been postponed indefinitely, meaning no public art mural projects moved forward. Public events had been banned, meaning no birthday parties, or festivals to paint beautiful smiling faces. Brick-&-mortar stores all started to feel the pressure and no longer had a decorating budget.

But online shopping was BOOMING. (If you had any consistent website traffic, which I did not.).

Since my initial Facebook website announcement, visitors mainly found my website through my marketplace postings, or through shares of my art content on Facebook. Many even visited after a NTV local news broadcast that highlighed my work!

I have gained a lot of local lovely fans throughout this year. Valuable, treasured supporters I am so grateful for. There are only so many walls in Newfoundland Canada to hang art on, It's time I tell the WHOLE WORLD about it.

I thought this would be a perfect platform to make for my consistent supporters. One only has so much wall space, but we all need to read more books! So If you support me with a monthly or yearly membership, I'll be painting a bookmark Just For You. Join my Monthly Bookmark Club.

steps to my goal :
Create a few 30second video time lapses of me painting.

market those time lapses on Facebook with paid ads, using video re-targeting method (which will show my ads to people based on how interested they are in the videos I create) This will work to earn me back a consistent livable income over time as I continue to add to my advertising budget!

Help me reach my goal!
Always Sincere,
Wendy A. Morgan
