I don't want to brag...
Well actually thats a lie. This whole email is going to be a brag.
So I won't start Wednesday with a lie. Let me begin again
I want to brag
I'm feeling incredibly smug right now. And alert. And smug. And productive. Did I mention smug?
Foneless February
In an effort to improve my sleep quality and over all productivity I made the bold decision that neither my laptop nor phone is allowed into my bedroom in the evenings. Instead I'm going to read before bed every evening for the entirety of February (and hopefully beyond).
I've spent too much of this pandemic watching Netflix in bed until all hours when I should be sleeping up a storm!
So phone and laptop went the same way as my sex life - vanished into non existence.
Last night was day 1 of this venture (night one technically I suppose)
And you can probably guess what happened.
I tossed and turned initially, and was frustrated. Reading some god awful adventure thriller spy novel which just about kept my interest.
But then sweet sweet sleep came my way and I woke up at 5.30 this morning feeling like I'm ready to take on the world.
I'm not a scientist but I can say with 1 million percent scientific certainty I had the best nights sleep I've had in a long long time.
So that's why I'm so smug right now :)
And you know what was on my phone when I came into the kitchen and checked it
ABSOLUTELY F*CKING NOTHING IMPORTANT!!!
Wednesday Wisdom
I mean it's a fairly obvious observation in this instance from which to draw our wednesday wisdom.
Don't spend all night scrolling twitter, instagram and watching netflix on your phone when you should be sleeping
Hardly revolutionary stuff.
But maybe (like me) you need a kick up the arse every now and then to remind you that your presence on this earth is finite and ruining your sleep by reading the thoughts of Potatoman44 on climate change at 3am isn't the best use of your time.
