Sometimes it's nice to switch up how we list what makes us smile. For instance, instead of listing out just what or who makes us feel happy, writing or typing out "I am thankful for ___ because ___" can be a wonderful and more introspective way to dive deeper into why something or someone makes us smile.

Practicing with this format may take a bit longer than with a simple list, though either way is perfect. If you have the time, I encourage you to give it a shot!

• I am thankful for today’s dinner because homemade black bean soup is delicious and healthy!


• I am thankful for this sunset because it is always beautiful.

• I am thankful for Rick because he is so helpful and strong with moving boxes into the car in preparation for our pre-move day tomorrow!
