Be yourself

Jan 10, 2020

"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” ― Oscar Wilde

Actually, there's no way you can be anything else.

You are unique. (No snowflake jokes please.)

Why then do we copy, emulate, worship?

God only knows.

But of course, we don't see it. Not fully. Instead, we think if we copy someone else's life(style) we too might self realise.

You won't, ever.

Life is a mixed bag of things and even if someone else's life is apparently better disposed to happiness etc. than yours, that doesn't mean you can follow in their footsteps.

Of course, being yourself -- all body, mind and spirit -- appears very hard. But it's not. It's simply a case of acknowledging the full import of the happening of the moment; the energetic expression of everything if you wish. That means being more relaxed. Actually you can't will your wants but perhaps you can stand back from the vicissitudes and breathe.

Or you might not!

The other option is to accept everything as if you'd chosen it. Yes, that might sound counter-intuitive, but when we argue with our thoughts, feelings and emotions we lose every time. Period.

In the end, how you choose to live your life is how you live your life, and nothing I say (apparently) or others will make any difference ❤️.

Deep bows.
