What happens when traditional Indonesian art meets Western rock 'n roll? Kerensa has spent the past few decades in Indonesia, immersing herself in local traditions and artistic practices, such as the Balinese Topeng (Mask). This piece explores, among other things, Kerensa's experience in a country and culture completely foreign to her own, and the struggle that comes with being 'not quite Indonesian' in Indonesia, yet also 'not quite Australian' whenever she returns to her home country. Something that many of us probably can relate to, in this increasingly interconnected, inter-cultural world.
