Greetings, dear pond supporters! Today I'm sharing more of my squirrel photos that I took during the recent AllWriters' annual retreat.
As, I said in the part 1 post, I had a lot of fun shooting pictures of this inquisitive, photogenic squirrel. Enjoy!

Still eyeing me up from the base of its maple tree.

At first, I thought that I would catch the squirrel lounging in sploot position but alas, it is just investigating it's environment.

The squirrel kept a wary eye on me.

I did get back to writing and stopped photographing for a while. I did get quite a few edits done on a draft of a story that involves maple trees.
Then I heard a scratching of claws on bark. When I looked up, I got to play spot the squirrel.

Look at that camouflage! I'm awestruck by how well the squirrel's fur matches the bark's color and texture.

Still a wary creature.

The squirrel is about to disappear into the crook of the tree.

I love how brightly the light shines through the squirrel's ear. It glows like a shiny spot of rose against the dark of the bark.

My story involving maple trees was blessed with a surprise maple seed landing upon it's submission planning page. Somehow, this felt like a benediction. Fingers crossed I will get this story polished and placed in a publication home soon.
