Hello there. My name is David, and I live in Dublin. This is my first post here so I thought I would tell you a few things about myself and why I set up this account.

The Camino, eh? Why the Camino? I know...I still ask myself that question but I still feel the pull each and every year. My first trip to Spain was in 2011 and I went without any expectations. A seed was planted to return and return I did the following year.

I started to blog about my experiences on Camino de Santiago in 2012 and I have been writing since then. More recently, I have been writing for Camino Society Ireland.

So back to my original question...why the Camino de Santiago? I go to take in its culture, to meet people, to unplug and of course, give my spirit some food for thought. It's a great way of getting away from the hustle and bustle of modern-day life.

The main Camino is the Camino Frances; an ancient trail covering 800 km across Spain starting in St Jean Pied de Port in the foothills of France and ending in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. But there are many more Caminos to Santiago reaching across Spain, France and Portugal.

I love writing and talking about the various Caminos and if you are one of the many people who has walked these routes, you may well feel the same.

My website ClearskiesCamino.com isn't a travel website as I don’t get to travel to other countries but I hope my talking about my times on the Camino helps you as you plan for yours.

You can find me on Instagram @clearskiescamino also and I use this account the most while on Camino.

I have a lot planned for the future so keep watching.

If you like what you see there, I'd really appreciate it if you could support me!

Buen Camino!
