Peeling the layers of my inner self away
To get to the core;
The root of it all.
Scared of what I could find
I cringe at unfamiliarity
Reflection is the enemy.
I stand at the mirror
Looking at a stranger
On the other side.
She points and laughs.
Bandages upon bandages
Mask my insides.
Ones which have held me
Together for eternity.
Eternity ends today.
