Happy Wednesday!

Happy Wednesday!

Mar 17, 2021

Hello there!

I was wondering how you guys are doing this time of the week? As for me, I actually need to work on some pending artworks, hopefully tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. I haven't actually touched my art materials for several days now because I've been so preoccupied with my full-time job. But, I've got loads of photos of my artworks, so, I'm sharing this one with you today. This was something that I painted last year. I used Paul Rubens watercolor block for this piece and Pastel Dreams palette from Art Philosophy.

I did this art to get rid of my "first page fright". I'm not even sure if that's a legit term, but it's sorta like a "stage fright" but instead of being afraid of stepping on a stage, it's about being afraid to ruin the entire watercolor block or pad with your own artwork. This is probably just in my head, but I have that fear that I would never be able to paint anything good once I ruin that first page. If you're an artist, I wonder if you go through this kind of moment, too.

Anyway, I figured it's ridiculous to procrastinate and waste my art materials, so, I whipped out my paintbrush one fine morning (sometime in November) and started painting a pumpkin! It was a post-Halloween art, but instead of using vibrant colors, I tried to tone them down a little using pastel colors and I was very happy with how it turned out!

I also painted a blue one with slightly different details. Which one do you like better?
