Even the persistent construction in Berlin can’t ruin the beauty of the German Cathedral located on the old Prussian military training square known as Gendarmenmarkt. Destroyed by fire during the Second World War, reconstruction started on the church in 1982 when it was situated in Soviet occupied East Berlin. Now home to a permanent exhibition that focuses on the history of German democracy and parliament, this beautiful building should at the top of every Berlin visitor’s must-see list.
