Welcome to my brand new buymeacoffee page! So this is something I have been wanting to try out for a while now. So to begin with let me introduce myself. My name is Alice and I’m a 30-something year old based in England, Unite Kingdom. I live with my husband, 3 children and me best fur friend Dinah (aka my cat)
I have been sewing since i was 15 years old and am self taught. I originally started just by altering clothing and making mini skirts and these dire halter neck tops and ended up selling them in local boutiques. In 2008 I proceed to complete a HNC in theatre costume design and worked on theatre productions such as Cinderella.
Since then i have been sewing on and off and focusing on businesses. In 2012 I set up a brand called HOW and started designing and selling costume jewellery and gifts. I started with just ten pounds and grew it into a nearly 6 figure business. I sold in hundreds of shops worldwide including topshop, John Lewis, NASA and independent shops. I won 14 small business awards and met Theo Paphitis! My business became very stressful as I am usually quite ill and most of the time be bound and in 2020 I decided to close up and take some time to myself.
As well as my business I also began working as an illustrator and am currently signed to Inky illustration agency. I have worked on projects with Pusheen, Scouts and cafes!
Since closing up my business I discovered a love and passion for designing and making lingerie in July 2020. I taught myself how to make bras and draft them and now I’d love to pass on some of my knowledge. So join me in this adventure and please bear with me whilst I learn this platform!🤣
