When was the last time you bought yourself new underwear? Honestly. You don't need to actually reply and let me know, but I want you to have a think about this! You see, I've been spending a lot of time clearing out different rooms in my home and last weekend I spent some time on my bedroom, and more specifically, my wardrobe. I threw away some nursing bras that ashamedly, I was still wearing in regular rotation, even though I've not nursed my youngest in over a year. And worse still, they probably haven't fit me properly in a couple of years, but I wear them because a) They're super comfortable and B) I have a real issue spending money on anything for myself.
I had to remind myself that I deserve good things.
We all do. So why is it we find it so difficult to buy ourselves even the most essential items, like new, well-fitting lingerie, PJs or loungewear? I didn't bat an eyelid to part with the best part of £70 on new bedding for Rainbow, even though she's 3 years old and wouldn't care one way or the other, but I can't do it for myself.
I think some of us are givers and some are much better at receiving. If you, like me, are a giver, here is a public service notice to give to yourself too! YOU DESERVE GOOD THINGS. You are amazing. You have been there for everyone around you. You have given and you hardly remember to take. So I challenge you today, to do something for you. Book that facial, buy those fab M&S bralettes you've had in your basket for months, invest in the new running trainers you really want.
Now, I don't need to know about your oldest pair of undies, but I would like to know if you chose to do something for you and if so, what it was!
