A QUOTE EVERY DAY FOR YOU: 12

Apr 25, 2021

"It was one of those rare and beautiful days in winter when England remembers that there is a sun. The star of the day, pale but nevertheless still splendid, was setting in the horizon, glorifying at one the heavens and the sea with bands of fire, and casting upon the tower and the old houses of the city a last ray of gold which made the windows sparkle like the reflection of a conflagration."

― Alexandre Dumas, The Three Musketeers

Although I think England remembers quite often that there is a sun, and it does that in a pretty way, I find this description beautiful and I wanted to share it with you. (To be fair, the book this quote is from - one of my favourite childhood books - was written many years ago and it is very likely the sun was a rare appearance in wintery England back then.)

Best wishes,

Crina.
