Learn to Code! Where?

Learn to Code! Where?

Apr 27, 2021

Don’t be discouraged by coding. It’s a skill.

Software Engineers sometimes like to brag that coding isn’t for everyone and it may be too hard for common people to do.

Well, learning a second language isn’t for everyone either. But when push comes to shove, people learn how to memorize words like “Hotel”, “Restroom”, “Restaurant” by the speed of light.

Same with coding - when there’s an urgent need, usually people will find themselves learn to code and surprise at how adept they are at doing it.

It’s all about small steps. Once the first step is taken, the next thing to do is just to do that second step.

If you want to try dipping your feet into coding, below are the resources I recommend.

  • https://w3schools.com – Super simple to follow, this site has been around for a long time and I personally learn HTML from this website back in 2000s.

  • https://www.freecodecamp.org/ – My kids are using this website to learn about coding. They boasted that their students have got prestigious jobs from Big Tech companies like Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft.

TO DO NOW

Create an account and try 5 exercises from FreeCodeCamp. It will only take you less than 10 minutes.
