We were at my partner's mom's house today for her birthday (clearly the coolest people are born in May) and while we were in the yard, I saw a duck and I was like awww that's cute, what's he's doing here? When I crept over to see how close I could get without him flying away, I noticed there was a female duck hiding! BB's mom said they often come into the yard and eat the bird seed they have scattered about. Eventually, the lady bird revealed herself and the two of them sat together in the yard while we played cornhole. Nature. 🥰
