Poetry as a form of living is something that has helped me hang on to reality and life at more difficult times. I end up living through this dream word I create in the poem and that is priceless. Here is one of those dreams....
The way I feel...
It isn’t new and Can’t heal...
They said What’s wrong...
With you?...
Why are you not strong???
I said nothing...
But really all I wanted
Was to say something....
Did happen...
And was unwarranted...
Then you came... and suddenly...there was no blame...
I no longer felt shame....
Together we came on point...
And we did not need everything to be joint...we found common ground...
And it all seemed sound...
My amazement was profound..,
Even though you are you and I am me...
You accept...
And give me the respect..
You see... me...
Together we walk towards the fire...
Something before I would not dare...
But now I have the flare...
And do it with desire....
The pain is still there..,
But not like before....
As I’m not alone...
Together we can explore...
I have grown...
