MicroLab - Killin' It!

MicroLab - Killin' It!

May 28, 2021

Arturia has really hit the nail on the head with the MicroLab I am shocked that it's taken me so long to pick up a microlab in orange especially considering the orange is my favourite colour but I am not regretting it, I don't think I have jumped so deep in to one piece of hardware and software as soon as I got this thing to the Girlfriends - I basically over the first 3 days of owning this keyboard spending 10 hours in pigments and V lab collection that comes with the keyboard if you know me you know that I already had V Lab Collections from other Arturia Keyboards.

Some of the devices you buy with attached cables have you thinking damn this sucks if the cable breaks but the USB cable is removable and possibly easily replaceable if needed but it's a quality cable so I doubt you would need to replace it any time soon.

I am digging the pitch and mod touch strips I have found these more responsive than the M32 - I still don't know why the M32 is marketed as a book bag portable production studio lol NI failed us on that one.

The MicroLab has the same keybed as featured on the MiniLab MK2 which is easily one of the best selling portable MIDI controllers on the market to this date and that keyboard has come in so many limited edition colours it's beyond a joke at this point and that's just being honest.

The rubber bumper/protector around the MicroLab will protect it from light bumps and knocks and things in your bag, which is a bonus. Some people complain that the Micrlab has no pads, personally I don't miss the lack of pads to be honest, ideally in the next few weeks my production studio in a bag will really start to take shape and that will show you why I won't miss the pads and that's just a fact of life at this point.

The tight knit integration with the Arturia Line up of products is a given and the microlab definitely doesn't disappoint on that front and I am glad about. I think this an amazing value packed keyboard.

This is a light weight keyboard but I don't feel like that's a bad thing I think it's got to be one of the best keyboards on the market for travelling and I feel like it fits well in the FlyBy bag that's my EDC bag at the moment.

The keyboard comes in Blue, Black and the awesome Orange one that I have.
