It Was a Great Week and Looking Forward to Next

May 28, 2021

I almost forgot that I had a Friday post planned. I suppose that's what happens when you get to working. Luckily, I had it scheduled in Asana so I wouldn't forget.

See, it's an incredibly valuable tool when you want to keep organized.

This week has been interesting, to say the least.

YouTube Channel is Recuperating...ish

Lately, the YouTube channel has started to reclaim some of the lost watch time. Once I figured out why it was decreasing, I felt much better. Of course, I still need to figure out how to keep the upward momentum going.

What does this mean for content? Well, I've taken a look at what works and what everyone voted on for videos. In the coming weeks, I'll have more on topics such as:

  • Using WordPress

  • General Blogging

  • General Freelance Writing

  • Self-Publishing and Marketing

Though, the self-publishing stuff might come a bit later. I am currently working on finishing my eBook autobiography of how I got started as a writer.

At any rate, I have quite a few videos in the works for everything from reviews to how-tos. And if you plan on building or working on your blog, I'll have quite a bit coming out to help you along.

Not to mention the blog posts I'm working on.

But if you have specific ideas or want to know about a certain topic, feel free to comment. I am always open to suggestions and read every comment whether it's on YouTube, the blog, or social media.

Setting Up the New Channel This Weekend

This weekend, I am working on the new YouTube channel for my creative works. I am feeling quite confident the Despair videos hurt the channel's optimization according to the YouTube algorithm.

Besides, I think having a creative sanctuary for my work is more ideal than putting it on the WriterSanctuary channel. And, I can promote it better on MichaelBrockbank.com.

At any rate, I am looking forward to finishing the Despair videos and doing some more creative projects. I'm even toying with doing a few skits and parodies.

Looking Good in Asana, But...

So, I have the new schedule set up in Asana. It gives me time to work on everything throughout the week with specific time slots for certain tasks. And so far, it's working out pretty well.

But that is just the beginning. Schedules and plans look great on paper, or in this case, a computer monitor. However, it means nothing if you don't put in the effort to follow through.

The best part is changing my mentality when it comes to my many projects. The key is to not stress about missing personal deadlines. Once 5 pm rolls around, I end my workday.

Why do I stick to 5 pm? Because if I don't, I'll surely burn myself out. So, I make myself stick to a specific schedule of 8 to 5. No starting early, and no working late.

Hustling hard means nothing if you wind up stressing or burning out. And pushing too hard can easily account for both. Life isn't about hustling every moment to make a dollar. If you don't take time for your own mental clarity, it'll surely lead to a crash.

I know this all too well, actually.

The Best Month of 2021?

As it stands, May is turning out to be the most productive month I've had in 2021. Between client work, videos, and blogs, I've been quite active and have managed to maintain a good workflow.

And at the rate things are going, June is going to be even better!

I'm truly excited by where things are going and look forward to what's in store.

But, I doubt I would be putting in nearly this much effort if not for you. Not only do you give me accountability and make me want to keep going, but your support has gone a long way for me on a personal level.

The Monday live streams are fun, and I'm glad I'm able to help so many of you figure things out from writing on Textbroker to managing a WordPress website.

You guys make me want to do bigger and better things. You bring out the best in me...and I hope I can return the favor.

Keep the Momentum for June!

May is just about over. And although I still have a lot of work to do, it doesn't feel exhausting. Things are rolling well, but we need to keep that momentum going.

Let's make June the best month we've ever had. Not just for 2021, but in our own history!

We. Got. This.
