The axe forgets, the tree remembers

The axe forgets, the tree remembers

This post is about anger. Towards yourself and others.

I don't know at what point I noticed how much my (what I thought was uncontrollable) anger ruined my life and relationships. It wasn't until I was fully able to let my anger go that I was able to get on top of that "flash in the pan" rage I would experience. I had chalked it up to a neurological issue, medically people with narcolepsy get more wakefulness from anger, and our fight/flight area is nearby in the brain where narcolepsy has messed things up. That may have been a "reason" but it took me a long time to realize it wasn't an "excuse."

I have an old post here: Wet Blanket Syndrome this was when I was just starting to play around with getting on top of it.

Eventually I got to a place where I was able to not lash out at people by having a nice steamy mug of STFU lol. Almost all of it came about from conversations with myself. Which led to my future post... What happens if I don't beat myself up?

Part of coping with being a human is NOTICING when you "fall short" or when you do something that interferes with you having good, healthy relationships in your life. Expressing anger, especially when it's unnecessarily escalated, is a lack of boundaries... with yourself.

If you find yourself being irrationally or uncontrollably angry, whether in situations or in spurts, it's up to YOU to do something about that. To read or watch and learn about anger, and how you can get on top of it so you can keep going beyond coping, into thriving and loving your life.

Make it a great day! The choice is always yours.

Love,

Dawn
