How To Find Time For Yourself

How To Find Time For Yourself

Jun 13, 2021

We wake up, get the family together, go to work, back home and then repeat. I know it all too well, this is your second full time job. Having a family requires so much of your time and effort. While we love them dearly or love our role, we tend to put ourselves on the back-burner. Why do we do this? We forget the most important thing- yourself!

It’s impossible to give your full self if you haven’t carved out that personal time to reboot. It really doesn’t matter how much time you take for yourself. Start small and create a habit of appreciation for everything you do. This will allow you to not only have something to look forward to but help renew your mental energy.

One of the things I like to do after the kids are napping or in bed for the night is to take a nice steamy bath or shower. Instead of using the light, use a candle instead.

Adding essential aromas that awaken your senses, helps to create a spa-like atmosphere.

I pamper my body, mind and soul to ensure that I am fully aligned with my life’s purpose. True happiness starts from within not from the outside. It’s time to start looking at the simple things that we already have access to and use them. I promise you will feel renewed, special and infused with a fulfilled attitude to SHEEK whatever awaits you.

Know that you have the right to do so.

Look at it as a way to recharge, it’s something you need to take better care of your family. You need to do a quick mani or pedi before you cook dinner. Put on that face mask right after the kids have had their bath.

Girl, how are you looking when you walk past that mirror?

I get it!

We don’t always have time to glam up, but a little something is necessary.

Who cares if you’re not going anywhere. The point is that YOU see it. That is all the reason you need, remember there are many elements of self-care and it is mostly mental. Let’s take advantage of anything we can do to put a smile on our faces or feel sexy.

You may even hear, “Mom you look pretty.” Or “Hunny, I didn’t realize you were going somewhere.” Those kinds of comments can help elevate you. You’re not invisible, you are the queen of the castle and should feel and look as such.

Even if you do not have a family, you should put yourself on a pedestal. Do a little extra when your mood is off balance. You deserve to have what you desire.

One of the things I love about finding time for myself is taking the chance to learn something. It may be by reading or listening to a podcast.

A moment of indulging in self-growth is such a rewarding feeling. This is often overlooked when we think about enjoying personal time.
