Upheaval Dome and the Syncline Loop Trails are located in the Island-in-the-Sky area of Canyonlands National Park, near Moab, Utah. This trail is rated very strenuous, and is where most accidents and rescues happen in this section of Canyonlands National Park. Please scroll down for some links to learn more about this trail and the fascinating geology of this area. Recommended hiking time for this hike is 5-7 hours. It took this 5'1" almost-60-year-old, a bit out-of-shape solo woman, 6:30 hours on a hot day, including over an hours worth of video recording(many stops and yes, I had to delete about 80% of it, as always).
