Lose Weight Eating Tasty Food

Aug 09, 2021

No one likes to diet. You have to give up your favorite foods and watch everything you eat. But what if there was a way that you could lose weight while enjoying tasty food? With the right tips, anyone can do it!

I know it sounds impossible to lose weight eating tasty food but I promise you that it is possible. In order to do this, we need to make a few changes in our lifestyle and dietary habits. Let me tell you how I did it.

The first thing that I had to do was review what I was currently eating and finding lower carb alternatives that still tasted good. So many foods out there promise heaven for your taste buds and either have a weird after taste or it's sawdust or cardboard in your mouth.

The next thing was simply trial and error. These might not be appealing to you, but keep an open mind. I promise once you go down this rabbit hole, your whole world will change for the better!

In today's installment of Life More Abundant as we focus on health, here are some great substitutions that will switch out those high carb faves into low carbs tasty must haves: By switching out some of your favorite foods that you eat often, you'll start to see the weight come off little by little.

  • Radishes for potatoes. Yes, raw they are bitter but cooked tossed in olive oil, salt, and your fave seasoning and now you have some potatoey goodness happening! You can air fry them at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. I love having mine with three over easy eggs.

  • Low carb tortillas for bread. My favorite is the Aldi brand. It's only 4 net carbs. I've tried Keto and sprout breads but they still spike my insulin and the keto breads are, for the most part, chewy and not in the good way. For me, this is a great alternative because the tortilla is soft so whenever I want some bread, I go for the tortilla. It's loaded with fiber to.

  • Zucchini noodles for regular pasta. I almost always have on hand some Green Giant frozen noodles and I eat the whole bag, which comes out to only 4 net carbs! Toss in some no sugar added Prego sauce and fave protein and you've got pasta back! I'm to busy, okay lazy!, to spiral them and dry them out a bit. When I'm hungry I want to eat now so the frozen variety is perfect for me.

  • Fruits in place of candy or sweets. For those who do a strict keto diet you might take this out, but I have found anything to restrictive, at least for me, simply doesn't work in the long run. I generally have some green apples in the fridge that I pair with meats and cheeses or just some peanut butter. It's a quick small meal that gives me loads of energy and takes a short amount of time to prepare. I also enjoy blackberries (which is about 7 net carbs for one full cup!).

  • Sometimes you gotta have your sweet and Breyer's is my fave for that. Their low carb chocolate ice cream is amazing! Only about 4 net carbs compared to regular ice cream at about 24. I have tried the protein ice creams and keto ones and really don't care for them much. Try them though. They are popular. Breyer's for me tends to be so consistent on how awesome their flavors are across the board.

These are just some of the things you can switch out.
