Afternoon Tea

Oct 05, 2021

I actually have coffee (I drink it for the flavor, not the boost), more than tea. Even that, not every day. I don't have a coffeemaker. When I have breakfast out, I'll have a few cups. Or, get something from Starbucks, McD's or one of the local coffee places. I prefer a dark roast with a little cream. Some places here serve coffee with very good flavor. Others, it's much weaker. Though, I find, whether it's usually strong or more bland, it can vary from visit to visit. Part of it, being if it's a fresh pot or has been sitting awhile.

Back to the tea. When I was a kid, my grandma kept some on hand. Mostly, Constant Comment. Which is a blend of black tea, orange & sweet spice. Any other ingredients, Bigelow is keeping to themselves. As an adult, I found there are many different types of teas. CC is still my favorite & gives me memories of my grandma.

My, now ex & I had purchased one at Grocery Outlet. It had different things in it. Two being, peppermint & spearmint. That's really all I tasted. As much as I like mint (especially with chocolate), I don't care for it in my tea. Will not be getting that one again. The next time, we bought a black tea with ginger. I do enjoy ginger. Which, on it's own, can have a bite. It did, in that tea.

I don't go actively looking for tea when I shop. It just happens to be next to something else I'm looking at. I see one that sounds like it would have a good flavor, so I get it. I usually just have one or two cups & eventually wind up tossing the rest. I would like to enjoy tea more, but I just don't have a craving for it like coffee. With tea, I do put some sweetener in it. Sometimes include cream as well. I'm thinking I should get Constant Comment. Since I have a good association with it because of my grandma. Except for occasionally having it at breakfast out, I usually just have it by itself. Not like shown below. What, if any, is your favorite tea?
