Having a Very Productive Week!

Having a Very Productive Week!

Nov 05, 2021

It's Friday! And although I didn't get around to doing some of the things on my list, I did check off quite a few of the more important ones. As long as I can do that, then I really can't call it a failed week. Seriously, I produced a lot of greatness this week despite not getting around to uploading videos or a lot of blog posts.

This goes to show that you can still be proud of the accomplishments you made without being too critical of yourself for not getting some of the other things done.

As long as you can look back and see forward momentum in some of the things you did, then I'd call that a win. It's all about self-improvement, and everyone grows at their own pace. It's not a contest. Even if you only did one thing more than you did last week, it's still a victory.

Relish in it!

Way Ahead of Schedule for NaNoWriMo

The idea was to inspire me to write 50,000 words in November for National Novel Writing Month. But I've been so engrossed in how well the story is progressing, the NaNoWriMo website says I'll be done with the goal by November 22nd.

I've been going way above and beyond the 1,667 words per day.

I also really like this particular storyline. So, I set it up as a goal on MichaelBrockbank.com to write a minimum of 250 pages. If you want to follow along, it's in the sidebar of the blog under "Kingmaker."

In reality, I'll probably go well beyond 250 pages depending on how deep I take this one. But if I keep putting in the same amount of effort after NaNoWriMo is over, I'll be done writing it halfway through December. This means I'll be able to put out a fiction book in the next couple of months.

And like the eBook, monthly supporters on Buy Me a Coffee will receive a free copy of this one as well. Since it'll be the first actual fiction novel I've ever published, I might even do a few giveaways once it's up and printed.

Afterward, I think I am going to work on VII using the NaNoWriMo website.

Still Working on Getting the First eBook Set Up

Speaking of the eBook, I have been working on it every day this week. This is partly why I wanted to finish the book well before November started. Right now, I am working on two books back-to-back. It's part of why I haven't been able to blog or upload videos lately.

Still, I am rounding the corner and will have someone start reading and editing it within the next day or two. I'll be writing a blog post about the editing process of self-publishing here in the next couple of days.

Remember, this one is more of an autobiography. It's simply about how I got started as a freelancer and how it brought me to where I am today. I doubt it'll fly off the shelf, but I did add a lot of what I learned over the years to help others along in their own freelancing journey. Hopefully, it'll help someone.

In any case, it'll be the first book with my name on the cover. And yes, I am ordering myself the first printed copy.

Started Getting Things Organized for 2022

It's never too early to start setting some goals and ideas for the next year. Based on how well 2021 has gone for me thus far, I have my work cut out for me.

Of course, I'm going to set similar goals to what I had this year, such as writing one million words or surpassing the average number of hours I work in a day. However, I might add a few more to the mix, such as uploading more videos, book publishing milestones, and publishing blog posts.

The things I am doing right now are actually a test run for how I can keep forward momentum starting the new year. I don't believe in waiting until the last minute. Well, sometimes I do, but it's usually not intentional.

What kinds of things would you like to accomplish in 2022? Have you started working on your goals for the new year?

What Did You Learn This Week?

By taking a look at the last few days, you can get a feel for what you want to happen next week. As long as you're capable of learning and growing, you can keep building on to future successes.

The key is to not be too hard on yourself for not getting everything done you had planned. Learn why you weren't able to do those things and make adjustments for next week.

Perhaps you were simply trying to bite off more than you can chew at the moment. Understanding yourself and your current limitations only work to help improve your abilities later on.

Just make sure you focus on your accomplishments and not dwell on the frustrations.
