A Day Late, But Still Here

A Day Late, But Still Here

Nov 27, 2021

I never got a chance to write as I normally would on a Friday. I was busy helping Mom string up several tens of thousands of lights. We also didn't have a podcast last night like normal, but given current events, it just didn't seem right. After losing my stepdad a couple of weeks ago, things are just not going well.

At any rate, I still plan on getting back to schedule once I return to Colorado...sometime tomorrow night.

Need to Work on Marketing for the eBook

With the eBook finally published, now comes the fun part: marketing. No one is going to buy the book if they don't know it even exists. I'm actually working on quite a few ideas that I want to try this upcoming week. And yes, I'll be writing a blog post about the different things I'm trying. I'll also have a video or two of the process.

This is perhaps one of the biggest drawbacks to self-publishing. Everything is on your shoulders. And if you don't have a lot of time at your disposal, things will go a bit slower in terms of sales and distribution.

I can see why people throw money at marketing professionals for books.

Anyway, that's what I'll be spending a bit of time on this week. Well, aside from prepping the paperback version of the book, which I'll personalize with an autograph for my monthly supporters.

Not Going to Make NaNoWriMo Goals

With everything that has gone on this past week, I'm simply not going to make my goals for NaNoWriMo 2021. I'm not terribly upset about it and still plan on putting a lot of effort into this next book. I'll just have to create new goals for it.

I'm pretty excited about this novel. It's a fantasy/horror that is just flowing so nicely. I'm also going to see about getting a handful of beta readers. For one, I want to write about the process and perhaps make a few videos.

In any case, it's my goal to be done writing the first draft either before the end of the year or even the end of January. It's a much bigger book than the one I just published.

I Hope Everyone is Having a Stellar Holiday Weekend

So, there we have it. This past week was just a bit rough. But, the vacation was worth the trip. I hope everyone is having an awesome holiday weekend. I'll see you when I get back to Colorado.
