Why Should I Work with a Life Coach?

Why Should I Work with a Life Coach?

Nov 27, 2021

“They can’t tell me how to live my life!” “Life coaching? Is that like therapy?”

“I don’t need anyone in my business!”

If you’ve logged onto Instagram or Facebook within the past years, chances are that you have scrolled past a post or a profile centered around personal development, personal growth, or life coaching. Maybe you’ve heard about life coaching on an infomercial or in your Instagram feed. Perhaps you’ve watched a celebrity life coach take the stage on one of your favorite reality shows. But what is life coaching and is embarking upon a coaching journey a real possibility for YOU?

Let’s talk about it!

The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. While counseling really focuses on helping you unpack the things that led you to where you are today, your coach will look at where you are now and helps you determine what steps can be taken to get to where you want to be. Here are some reasons as to why you should consider working with a life coach.

Your coach supports you

You know all those dreams and goals that you’ve been hesitant to share with others? Or, perhaps you have shared them with others, but your spark was extinguished by their lack of enthusiasm? Your coach will be that person supporting you in those goals you’ve always wanted to reach, but haven’t been able to in the past.

Your coach can help you with strategies

Feel like you’ve been procrastinating and putting off that “thing” for years now? Maybe you’ve been unorganized for way too long and now you are looking for that method that will finally ‘stick.’ Maybe you’ve been trying to hit the gym for the first time in 10 years. Chances are, your coach can help you navigate those choices.

Your coach can facilitate a non-judgmental environment

Good coaches will make sure that you are able to share your true thoughts and feelings in a welcoming, authentic, non-judgmental space. While some people may not feel comfortable talking to close family or friends about a particular situation, your coach can provide unbiased support and guidance to help you.

This list only covers just a few of the many benefits that come with having your own personal coach.

Ready to move past the pain of divorce and get yo' mind right? I would love the opportunity to serve you on your post-divorce journey. I understand how you may be feeling during this season of your life, not only am I divorced and I also trained, certified and have obtained Continuing Coach Education hours from an ICF approved program.

Let's talk soon!
