A Life with Cats

Dec 08, 2021

Though I love all animals, I have a special affinity for kitties. Possibly, because, I was born into a family that had cats. There was a photo of me, under a year, holding onto a Siamese. From what I remember, they were more the traditional looking (Sealpoint), like the one below. Cream & dark brown, though I believe the coloring & markings were displayed differently. My grandparents had two Meezers. Baby & Butch.

My husband & I had a Lynxpoint, Leo. Grey & white. Striped & spotted. With blue crossed eyes. We adopted him from a lady off of Facebook. Who needed to rehome her kitties. She & I also became friends.

My grandma is the one that had a lot of the photos. She passed on six years ago. Before she did she was living my aunt (who passed nine years ago) & uncle. In Oct 2017 there were major fires raging in eight different counties here in CA. One of which wiped out the homes where my aunt, uncle & grandma had lived. My uncle was the only one still living & had moved to another town with his new wife. Most likely all of the photos, including, of the Meezer & myself were destroyed.

For 5 1/2 years I've been volunteering at the local shelter. Interacting with the cats. Over time I became the one to take the photos & make the observations. To help them get adopted. I also belong to a lot of rescue & lost/found groups & pages from around the world (I have a few myself). I share about those. To hopefully get a good outcome.
