Black-Throated Blue Warbler

Dec 13, 2021

Black-throated blue warblers are small songbirds. The heads and backs of the males are a hard-to-define slate blue that can grow a darker, deeper blue. Both males and females have a small white square on their wings that is sometimes called a “pocket-handkerchief.” These birds range along the east coast from southern Canada to Florida and as far west as the Mississippi River.
