There are many songs with common melodies or lyric motives in the music of the Balkans and Beyond.
Tonight, I will explore some of these folk songs and bring you variations in different languages: Greek, Macedonian, Serbian, Turkish, Yiddish, German and English.
With Nadezhda Mastoridis as a co-host and guest musician in Misirlou.
This edition's title is inspired by a documentary "Whose is This Song" by Adela Peeva, where she travels the Balkans in search of the origins of a folk song.
