A New Year's Prayer (2022)

A New Year's Prayer (2022)

Jan 01, 2022

Father,

You are Sovereign and there is no one like You! I give You glory and praise for 2021, 2022 and always.  Thank You for Your love and mercy that brings everyone that accepts them to Your throne as a friend. I also thank You for Your hand of blessing that blesses Your people in more ways than we could ever comprehend.

You know all things and there is nothing hidden from Your eyes.  You know where this world is and how things seem to be turned upside down.  In actuality, this world hasn't been in a good place for a while.  You could point back to the Garden of Eden in Your Word and show us where it all went downhill from the start.  And since that time, You had a plan in place to redeem Your people, which was proven to the world in the life, death and resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ. We look forward to the culmination of Your plan on that last day!

Until then, help us to navigate the days ahead in Your will. According to Galatians 5:25, help us to keep in step with the Spirit. Guide us according to Psalms 32:8 where it says, You will instruct us and teach us the way to go, that You would counsel and watch over us. Let us always remember Romans 8:28 where Your Word says that all things work together and are fitting and good for those who love God and are called according to His purposes.

We know that there will be voices that seek our attention, voices that would desire us to focus on all the evil and how deprave this world has become. But help us to remember Psalms 37:4 where You tell us to delight ourselves in You and You will give us the desires of our hearts. We pray that our desires would always be Your desires.

As we weigh the information and news that we hear. Help us to discern what is right and make good decisions. Help us to know through the Holy Spirit that is with us and in us according to John 14:16-17. In-power Your people to stand in faith, to not fear and trust not in our own abilities, but to always trust in You, in every situation.

Give us a love and passion for Your Word. According to Joshua 1:8, help us to meditate on Your word daily so it will make our way prosperous. But also help us to align our lives with Your Word since John 15:10 says that we should obey Your commands and abide in Your love. We also stand on Matthew 4:4, that says "man shall not live on bread alone, but on every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."

Lastly, help us to share the joy of salvation with others. People are hurting and desire hope. There is nothing better than knowing that this world isn't all there is. This world is temporary and we are truly citizens of Heaven according to Philippians 3:20. Help us to not keep this Good News to ourselves, but share it with those You have put in direct contact with us.

We give You praise and glory! You deserve it all!

In Jesus Name, Amen.

Maranatha
