Our housing market needs to change and/or we need to create a more affordable AND safe living space for people. Do you agree?
How can we make change? Who do you trust to make change?
I would love to see affordable and safe living spaces. Even if it’s just transitional. As they say, “It takes a village to raise a child”, it also takes one to create change.
The only thing I can think of that would be affordable, safe, and durable is to create tiny home communities/subdivisions that will not break the bank. Tiny homes have gone up in pricing but at this point they are still more affordable than buying a home or renting. And I don’t think that there is as much of a stigma around tiny home communities just yet.
As far as the safety aspect, I would think these communities would need to do background checks or something if that’s possible. I guess it’s different if it’s a subdivision rather than a community. I don’t know the laws and that’s where it takes a village. Why does it seem so complicated? Ugh.
We need people who know how to find land that is zoned for this or how to change the laws to make it zoned for this. Do we need a 501 (c) 3 and/or grants? Or is there a building company that could do this sort of thing? Probably need some sort of backing on this. How can we make this change?
I’m so grateful that there are some tiny home communities for our veterans (thank you to all our hero veterans for serving). I hope we can create similar tiny home communities for single parents and for our homeless population.
I’ve been looking for 2 years to find an affordable and safe living space so that my child doesn’t have to drive 6 hours to see a parent! For him to have both his parents in his life more often. I’m not looking for handouts, just an affordable and safe living space. I don’t need much, just a roof over my head near my child that's safe would be nice.
I would love to be a part of this change but know I’m not in the position to do it all. I’m still desperately searching for my own affordable and safe living space. Putting the mask on myself as they instructed. I think I need to start playing the lottery so I can try to make this happen.
