This scene was photographed at O'Neill Bay at Te Henga, on Auckland's West Coast. I had been taking some sunset pictures and after the sun and disappeared, I could see the orange glow on the horizon. So I switched to a telephoto lens, and made some attempts to introduce a blur to the image. This was done with a slow shutter speed, and moving the camera sideways, while the shutter was open. This I think, was the best of the lot.
I then had to hike over the coastal bush trail in the dark, back to where I had left the car. There's always a catch.
For this scene I used a Sony a7Riii and Voigtlander 110mm f2 lens. The size and quality of the image means it will make an excellent large print.
