Part 1 - The Crypto Babes

Feb 10, 2022

Michael Lodge, NCPM, CRTP:  PART 1 - The biggest fraud out there today in the financial markets is crypto currencies of all kinds.  It is designed to be a quick get rich scheme where fraudsters and schemers have taken control to make it sound legitimate.  Fraudsters are not just in our backyard or in front of us they have hit the internet through social media to get to your money.

A Fraud comes in many forms, shapes, personalities, and stories.  Fraud is the crime of using dishonest methods to take something valuable from another person. The item of value can be in the form of money or your personal information.

Now the method I am going to talk about is the way the fraudsters are trying to get your money through sex, alluring women (usually Asian) through Facebook friends.  Now on my Facebook, since I do blogs, vlogs, podcasts and promote my services, I get a lot of friend requests.  And I noticed suddenly, I was getting a lot of friend requests from women from Asia.  All with perfect pictures, perfect stories, very few friends and all men friends.  As I started to look at these profiles, I saw that they all had another thing in common, they all said in their profile they were in European countries.  Now I doubt everything, and as I dug deeper into their profiles, they all had the same patter, they all showed what they were buying, food they are eating, and always looked elegant.  Too perfect.  Too perfect that it smelled to high heaven.

The wording of these scams are simple but always used. They will say, my Uncle says........and there is a story. Some will say, you can talk to my uncle, he can help you. Or, I am investing in xyz, you should go there, my uncle can help you. There is always an uncle that comes up in the conversation to get you to their website to put money in. Don't do it.

The amazing thing is that I didn’t have to do a thing.  They started to us the Instant Messaging part of Facebook and Instagram to contact me.  Then they switch over to an app called WhatsApp. I knew there was a scam about to happen, so I played along. And so it started.  And what is funny is that the name they use on Facebook very seldom matches the name in their WhatsApp account.

Fraudster No. 1 – Emma Miller, Germany.  Fashion designer - WhatsApp

She started out with pleasant hello, and I responded.  Now our conversation went on for days.  Food we were eating, travel, telling each other about ourselves.  Several times she would mention how she was making money in crypto and she had to keep checking her bank account.

The conversation, before I confronted her on what she was doing, was as follows (there are days, this is just from the last day of conversations:

Just this week

12:49 PM

ME:  I can site case after case of fraud. It is nothing more then a way to launder money. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole

12:49 PM

EMMA:  Well it's just some way for criminals to launder money and I'm involved in cryptocurrencies to add more passive income

12:50 PM

ME:  I am not with it. Never will be

12:51 PM

EMMA:  Not everyone involved in cryptocurrencies is for money laundering, it's only a very small percentage of people, and only those criminals do

12:51 PM

12:52 PM

ME:  Anyone that takes in money from others to invest, you don't know where that money is coming from. If it is found to be laundering, even if you didn't know, it is a 27-year sentence in Prison.

12:52 PM

EMMA:  I'm so disappointed in you, I didn't expect you to say that to me

12:52 PM

Okay, stop talking, I don't want to talk to you anymore

12:52 PM

12:53 PM

She or he, not sure now, because the tone of her language changed. In fact, she said she was going to shoot me.  By the way, a crime.

EMMA:  [1:06 PM, 2/10/2022] +60 11-2811 4019: damn old man

So, it went from being good friends, until I confronted her on her scam to then threatening me with death.  Legitimate people investing in a real financial product don’t have to threaten people to shoot their dicks off.

The problem with bitcoin and cryptocurrencies is that there is no regulation so there are scammers trying to pray upon people, based on their sexy pictures and instant messaging tools provided for by social media. They create their Facebook and Instagram pages up with pictures, all following the same pattern.  It is like there is a school for these fraudsters, which I am sure they are all probably working in some boiler room in some foreign country conducting these scams.  Every single story is the same, same technique, same story.

They tell you a story and then at some point they go after your money to invest, and in no way is it an investment. And in a lot of cases they are after your personal information.

Therefore, the Federal Reserve needs to do something quickly about this industry, and it is now an industry.  These cryptocurrencies have so much fraud and money laundering going on inside them that it is time to nip it in the bud before people get caught up in the fraud.  Law enforcement needs to do better about this fraud that happens every single day.

If you are approached by one of these fraudsters, keep the conversation going, and copy everything that is being said.  Let other people know about your experience and tell law enforcement, and social media what is going on.  We can play a part in fighting this type of crime everyday.

If you have had someone, contact you trying to get you involved in crypto or bitcoin, pass it onto me.  I would like to hear your story.
