Representation is important, but often it takes time to get right. In the case of most of the characters who are overtly labeled as autistic, those presentations don't quite fit and present harmful stereotypes.
So I'm starting a new series with characters we've always known but upon a better understanding of my Autistic traits, actually are a much more faithful representation than many of those written to be Autistic.
So, with the help of some of my friends on Twitter, here's our first Autistic Headcanon Character, Ariel from the Little Mermaid.
