I had the honor of speaking to Chavonna Frazier who is a Mende descendant about 400 plus years removed. She was able to find this out by doing a DNA test through African Ancestry.
Chavonna and about 7 other Mende descendants traveled to Sierra Leone in 2019 for the Year of Return and they received Sierra Leonean citizenship.
Chavonna plans on moving to Sierra Leone. She has tours coming up in December of this year and will also be researching schools for her two children for her trip in September.
