Amalgamated News is a concept I love but I've repeatedly failed to get off the ground. The concept is a News Service, think Huffington Post, The Drudge Report, something along those lines. It is an amalgamation (see what we did there ; ) of a number of different news sources from around the Twilight Sector and the Known Galaxy.
Our idea is to have an ongoing series of news stories, some merely background, some related to actual adventuring opportunities or ongoing story lines. The intended effect is to give the setting a feeling of depth and life. If you're running a game set in the Twilight Sector Setting you have something to share with your players. Some of the news stories could actually serve as inspiration for you to develop adventures around. If you're a Twilight Stories reader or a reader of any of our fiction they're just a lot of fun and an insight into the setting.
So like I said above I've repeatedly failed to get this thing launched properly. Even though I literally have several years of these things written, implementation of a method for presenting them has been the problem. I hate websites. That is probably why ours sucks so badly. I know it's not hard but I've repeatedly avoided learning how to work with them properly. But this site seems to me to provide a perfect solution. Adding new entries from Amalgamated News will be easy. We will make the initial entries public so casual supporters can see them as they are posted. For those that are our Members we will compile them into a document for you to download and have them all in one place.
So I hope you all will enjoy Amalgamated News Service as much as I enjoy creating the content for it.
