"Now... how does this work?"

"Now... how does this work?"

Jan 02, 2022

After 53 years I am beginning to think insecurity-impulses and resistance to change are nothing more than expression of human biological inadequacies.

So here we are again.

I am opening a new "possible".

"Buy me coffee?"

...

Social media has been really shitty so far at distributing assets and actually reimbursing creators.

Catastrophic.

Derailing and strangely hand in hand with completely hollowing out the value of Intellectual Property in the process.

Professional creators have had to choose; Corporate silos or go international as a free-lancer.

The only ways available to accumulate enough work and revenue.

I started writing very basic html-pages in 1998 trying to "reach past" the gate-keepers.

Initially, because I simply found the ruling design and the general intellectual level of my peers stifled, fear-based, and restrictive.

I was 7 years out of art school - and it infuriated me to see how deeply anti-creative and 19th-century hierarchic in structure the existing commercial platforms were at the time.

In the process watching anything from Myspace, to every crappy jive "Creator" space in the world since the early 2000´s fail miserably.

To the extent that I am beginning to accumulate a theory about the uselessness of content and the potential idea that MAYBE social media are actually in fact; anti-social?

Why else would the resilience to purchase be so huge?

OR - does social media only reward User-Brand interactivity?

There are a thousand questions regarding how value is affected by interconnectedness.

Content consumption to Purchase-rates in so-called social media are terrifyingly low.

But only when it comes to the humanities!?

"Dumb" product consumption is wild.

Which clearly indicates a rift?

The general user is simply a user.

Not a socializing engaged participant.

From a sociological perspective this... horrific!?

Nothing new. But still horrific. From several standpoints.

...

I have been working as a "Gig" working multi-competence professionally since age 16 when I did my first very cheap commercial contract for a miniature submarine-builder in Småland.

"Illustrate our submarine underwater."

I have always been busy.

Reality is that the market that purchases ideas, words images and change - is NOT free.

Every single nation (and I have been to more than 100 states, so I know this for fact.) has clunky pathologic ruling structures and ideas about how one buys what, and often absurd social conditions - in regards of who gets the commission.

Gate-keepers are gate keepers.

Yes.

I am a complicated person. I prefer addressing the objective and the phenomenal and being entirely open about biases, shortcomings and risks.

It's a super skill.

I help all kinds of folks solve all kinds of problems.

And I am the boss.

This has made many gatekeepers very very angry with me.

So I have had to figure out other ways to reach the market and public with my competencies and services.

From intrapersonal to very very large.

Sometimes I get contracts.

Sometimes I don't.

Some jobs take an afternoon.

Some things take several years.

I deliver.
