#################################

Firstly let me take this time to thank each and everyone of you who have joined our group. In just 4 months after creating this group, it has just reached 10k members.

Anyway, I haven't posted anything as I was very busy with a SME training at BULOLO. The Attendance was a blast as seen in the photos below. It was attended by mainly women folks with late inclusion of youths and fathers who have come to witnessed.

The Training was facilitated by MOROBE RURAL SME FOUNDATION INC FOR HOUN GULF. In conjunction with BULOLO COUNCIL OF WOMEN. Thanks to Mr Ezra Kelly and Jenny Mesmin for the initiative and the invaluable contribution in making the Training a Success. Also I am grateful to the boys in Lae and the Executives of BULOLO council of women who have contributed huge effort during the week long training.

The Training was conducted in three paces.

1. The Starters

2. The Beginners

3. The Advanced.

The starters are those who have no single idea in business and wanted to know how to start business and register business. The Beginners are those who know something about business, registered their businesses already but have problem in maintaining their accounts, and also to access loan products with the banks. The Advance group are the ones who have fair idea in both 1 and 2 but have problems in doing cashflow, budgets, business proposals, business planning and such.

ISSUES

When I was conducting the training, I have noticed few problems that were prevalent since.

1. Registering their businesses with IPA

2. Filling forms

3. Getting TIN certificate

4. Do business profile

5. Opening of business account with banks.

SOLUTIONS

After seeing the problems they had, Me and Ezra with our team have actually assisted practically again to fill their forms and registered their businesses. We have progressed well and REGISTRED A TOTAL OF 130 business names with IPA. IT WAS A TOTAL SUCCESS!!!

MOROBE RURAL SME FOUNDATION also liased directly with IRC Lae office to assist all those women folks we registred in Bulolo with IPA certificates. To solve their issues of bank account openings, we invited BSP BULOLO to come during the training and they also did presentation on their products and promised to open the bank accounts for all the business names already registered. I also gave samples of business profile to the executives of the women council to assist the poor mothers.

CONCLUSIONS

WHILE MANY OF US ARE JUST DOING TRAININGS IN SME LITERACY. THE PROBLEMS OF THE PEOPLE REMAINS SAME.

1. IPA TOO SLOW TO REGISTER BUSINESSES,

2. MOST WHO HAVE HIGH INTEREST IN DOING BUSINESSES HAVE LITTLE KNOWLEDGE IN FILLING FORMS,

3. IRC TOO SLOW IN PROCESSING TIN CERTIFICATES,

4. BANK ACCOUNT OPENINGS HAVE REQUIREMENTS LIKE BUSINESSE PROFILE WHICH CANNOT BE DONE BY RURAL POPULATION.

I HAVE MADE A COMMITMENT TO HELP ALL THE RURAL PEOPLE IN TRAININGS AND PRACTICAL ASSISTANCE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO UPON INVITATION FROM INTERESTED GROUPS, ASSOCIATIONS, CHURCH GROUPS, DDAs, LLGs AND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENTS.

THE INTEGRAL PART OF DEVELOPMENT IN OUR COUNTRY IS NOT IN THE HANDS OF THE PUBLIC SECTOR BUT IN WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR. LET'S ALL WORK TOGETHER TO BUILD OUR PRIVATE SECTOR BY EMPOWERING THE RURAL MSMES.

LET'S GIVE COMPETITION TO ALL ALIENS WHO ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF OUR ILLITERACY IN BUSINESS BY TAKING OVER RESTRICTED PNG BUSINESSES!
