Basics & Creation

Poddycast supports playlists from the very first version. Basically, you can create as many playlists as you want. The playlist is displayed on the left side of the app. At the bottom of the app is a simple text box. You can use this to easily create a playlist. Just type in the name of your playlist and press Enter. A new playlist will appear in the Playlists section.

If you are a fan of keyboard shortcuts, use ctrl + n or cmd + n (on macOS) to quickly get to the playlist creation text box.

Manage your Podcasts

After you have created your first playlist, you can start managing your podcasts. Switch to the Favorites tab to see all your subscriptions. To add podcasts to the playlist, you can simply drag and drop them to the playlist name.

Edit Playlists

You have the possibility to edit and change your playlist at any time. You can delete it, rename it and remove connected podcasts (or add new ones).

To edit the playlist you have different options:

  • You can double-click on the playlist to edit and change the name easily inline.

  • You can right-click on a playlist to Edit, Rename or Delete the playlist.

If you select the Edit option, a new page will be displayed. Here you can rename or delete the playlist again. You will also see a list of linked podcasts. With the checkbox in front of each podcast, you can easily add or remove the podcast's connection to this specific playlist.

Playback

If you want to listen to a specific playlist, just click on it. You will then see the episodes of all linked podcasts. Click on any episode to start playback. Now only episodes from that playlist will play. When an episode is over, it will automatically play the next episode from that playlist (as long as you stay in that playlist).
